The clients brief for office lighting was a high quality, high efficiency Cat A scheme using contemporary linear lighting. They requested the scheme to be compliant with LG7 regulations and focusing on glare reduction.
Marcela Pomphrey – Marketing Director
Approached by design and build solution specialist for commercial buildings, Kentex, in August 2017, our team became an integral part of the design team. After the initial site survey followed by the product selection and luminaire schedule, working samples were supplied for client’s meetings. Full office lighting design and calculations were carried out to ensure the lighting will comply with the LG7 lighting guide. 3D visuals were created to help visualise the space and show the effects of the new lighting.
The scheme stretches over the ground floor, first and second floor. Thanks to extensive refurbishment, it boasts plenty of daylight. With the flexibility in mind, the design scheme was calling for suspended office lighting, that would work with the air conditioning units. The design team specified the class leading office luminaire OKA Suspended as the main source of the illumination. The Oka’s high output allows less luminaires to light the space, which is ideal for achieving clean and contemporary interiors.
The OKA sets new standards for linear office lighting. It’s minimalist design with clean lines stands out and the homogeneous light distributed through a diamond prismatic lens boasts an impressive UGR<16, contributing to high visual comfort and improving the wellbeing of occupiers.
All linear LED office lighting has been supplied in a contemporary matte black finish as DALI dimmable. The new lighting was supplied in 1 stage at the beginning of 2018 to the satisfaction of the client. The result is an attractive and efficient Cat A fit out complimenting the contemporary design of the Discovery House.
