Shortlisted for ‘Development of the Year’ in the 2015 Resi Award (the residential industry’s leading annual awards) South Bank Tower is one of the most exciting developments in London.
The full structural height of South Bank Tower boasts 155m high. Its extreme vertical space combined with the the fit out and finishes really provides a WOW factor for the building’s visitors and residents. The resident’s lobby has been completed with the unique, site specific sculpture ‘Vertical Shell’ by internationally renowned artist Tobias Putrih. Unveiled in September, the sculpture integrates beautifully with the contemporary architecture and fully utilises the sheer dimensions of the triple-height lobby. The sculpture was curated by Futurecity and developed in collaboration with architects Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF).

The spot lighting enhances the aluminium structure of the sculpture with a deep purple finish, setting a strong contrast to the surrounding contemporary architecture. The spot lighting needed to seamlessly blend into the ceiling, so our team supplied the lighting in a bespoke RAL colour finish to match the colour of the ceiling creating a flush effect. The 4000K colour temperature contributed to illuminating the clean architectural scheme of the interior.

Our team also visited the site to assist the main contractor MACE and the curators Futurecity adjusting the beams on the spots ensuring the best lighting effect was achieved.
In the residential areas, we supplied the slim linear LED profile Leck Recessed Trimless to add a visual interest to the corridors leading to the gym. Installed vertically in a repetitive way, the design really enhances the contemporary architecture and compliments the contemporary aesthetics.
