The 7th addition to the growing portfolio of the super cool coworking space provider LABS sees yet another trendy transformation. The imposing 9 floor building LABS, 90 High Holborn situated in Holborn Campus represents the LABS brand and embodies everything the trendsetting company stands for.

Offering a superb location with stunning views, flooded with natural daylight and equipped with excellent facilities, 90 High Holborn is a destination work space for people to thrive in.

The 4th LABS’s property in Holborn is situated closely to the other LABS locations such as LABS House, Southampton Place and Hogarth House. 

The unique selling point of LABS workplaces is an original design of each location created by leading designers like Tom Dixon. Apart from good design, there is a high sense of community and stimulating environment to allow companies and small businesses to grow to their full potential.

THE DESIGN BRIEF.

The design brief for the office lighting was to move away from the standard office look and move more towards the boutique look. The internal design team at LABS put together a creative design concept of using suspended globe style pendants across the entire floor.

33,066 SQ. FT.

The large 9 floor building has been recently refurbished to a high standard, adding forward-thinking features to make everyday work life more efficient. Our team has been involved with the work on the 5th floor. The floorplate boasts a very impressive 33,066 sq. ft.

With the aim to improve flexibility, the decorative lighting completely replaced the more conventional linear lighting in this case. The building enjoys an abundance of natural daylight and a scheme like this was only going to be successful with plenty of natural light coming in.

Following our successful work on the LABS House project, we were approached by Paul Earl  in September 2018 with a brief to bring the creative design concept to a reality. 

We introduced the beautiful Globo pendant from VISO to the design team and supplied a sample for a sign-off. The Globo is an eye-catching pendant with a matte frost finish, dispersing the light evenly and softly. It is made out of high-quality PMMA, making it lighter and safer to handle than glass.

The design concept was to suspend the pendants from a suspended track lighting system and use the decorative pendants as the main light source for the entire office floor. The flexibility of the Global track system allows creation of track systems of a very specific length and shape. In total, an impressive 299 Globo pendants have been delivered for this project. The vast office space including the meeting rooms and breakout space is fitted with 281 Globo 300 mm pendants. The larger 400 mm diameter size Globo was used in the corridors and circulation areas.

All Globo pendants have been fitted out with Osram E27 LED lamp with a high output (1521lm). They were pre-wired and the wire was cut to a specific length. The pendants were also equipped with track adapters before they were delivered to site to speed up the installation process. The whole scheme is using a colour temperature of 2700K, creating a warm relaxed feel.

90 High Holborn has been our second project for LABS to date and we are extremely proud to have shown a different skill set to the usual CAT A or CAT B office fitout we are renowned for.

The result is a super cool workplace scheme making this trendy coworking space truly unique. The beautiful interior design, soft colour palette and warm lighting makes LABS 90 High Holborn more than a place to work, it’s a place to grow and thrive.
