When the functionality of standard lighting is just not enough.

With the office turning into a destination worth the commute, the gym becoming a backdrop for the influencers and retail spaces fighting to create the most extraordinary experience, lighting that offers only functionality is just not good enough.  To create a visual interest, interior designers would often use feature lighting and infuse energy into a space. But it's when you personalise or customise the lighting, you are making a real statement.

What is Bespoke Lighting and what elements can you make unique?

Bespoke lighting means adjusting certain elements of standard light fixtures to create a bespoke light fitting.

The most common elements of bespoke lighting is a bespoke colour and size.

  • Custom RAL colour finish - Lighting manufacturers often produce light fittings in the most popular colour finishes- black, white and grey. Some manufacturers, like LedsC4 or Nexia are now adding new colours like Copper and Gold into their standard offer and are also capable of offering their standard products in bespoke RAL colours.
Thanks to our wide network of lighting manufacturers, we can match your lighting to the rest of the interior design. Standard luminaires, like linear lighting or architectural downlights can be powder coated or vinyl wrapped, depending on the finish you require.

  • Bespoke size- most of linear lighting can be manufactured to to fit a certain size. This  would depend on the size of the LED board in each of the luminaires. For example, our most popular fitting Rio can be supplied in sizes of 70 mm increments. And bespoke lengths are not only restricted to linear lighting systems. Circular halo fittings like Rydal can also be made in bespoke sizes.

  • Bespoke Optics- All our fittings are available with the standard opal or micro prismatic diffusers. Thanks to our wide supply chain, we are able to source other types of diffusers to deliver exactly what is required. You can select a contemporary black diffuser or honeycomb, multi-optics or asymmetric diffuser.

  • Bespoke mounting- We can offer a wide range of mounting brackets or suspension kits to fit your ceiling type.  For example, if you require a circular suspended luminaire like the Talla, it can be supplied with a metal rod suspension. When you working with ceiling types like the SAS ceilings or Gordon grid, we will make sure the lighting will work for your scheme.

What is Custom Lighting?

Custom lighting is a completely new light fixtures designed and manufactured for your project to fit your ceiling type

This process starts with an initial consultation, where we explore the options and your needs. Often, custom lighting would be requested for ceilings that can't be touched. Most of the time it would be a replacement of an existing luminaire, that is no longer functional, or efficient. Other times, it would be designing a new light fixture to fit a certain ceiling types.
You can customise the following elements:

  • Custom shape
  • Custom finish
  • Custom colour temperature
  • Custom output
  • Custom mounting system

Case Study: We created a custom light fitting for Glen House in London to compliment the shape of the coffered ceilings.

The slim square shaped light fittings with soft edges have been designed by the architect to match the shape of the coffered ceilings found throughout the building. Following the architect's brief, we designed the side-lit light fitting using a double satin diffuser, emitting soft comfortable light.

The units are connected to another by simple conduit pipes. The custom lighting was delivered in pairs as male and female. Keeping a clean and minimalist look, the suspended light fittings are using remote drivers.
